Former Indian team opener Aakash Chopra believes that wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has missed a golden opportunity. Many important players of the Indian team were not present in this tour of Sri Lanka. And in such a situation, Samson had every chance to prove himself but he could not do so.
26-year-old Sanju Samson scored 46 runs in his ODI debut. Due to which the expectations from him had increased a lot. But nothing of the sort happened. He scored 27 runs in the first match of the T20 series and 7 runs in the second. At the same time, he could not even open the account in the last match played on Thursday. Not only did Samson’s batting disappoint, but he also could not perform much behind the wicket.
Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel that Samson had a lot of opportunities. He had a chance to answer his critics. But he failed to do so and lost all his chances.
Samson has played only 10 T20 matches in his international career so far. In which only he has been able to score 117 runs so far. His batting average is 11.70 and his strike rate is 110.37. Where Sanju Samson’s highest score in IPL is 119 runs. On the other hand, when it comes to international matches, his highest is only 27 runs. Which he made in the first T20 match against Sri Lanka.
