These things will be needed
To make the old Android smartphone a home security camera, you will need Wi-Fi or at least 4G connection. Apart from this, there should be a power bank for this because the device’s camera is constantly on, the battery does not run out. Also a Google account should be for this. To maintain privacy, you are advised not to use the main Google Account. In such a case, use a secondary account. Now factory reset the old device. There are many apps available on the Google Play Store, which make the device a home security camera. There is also an Alfred camera app. Install it and register.
Will be able to watch live feed on phone
While setting up the app, when the app asks ‘I use this device age’, then you have to select the old smartphone as ‘camera’. After this, you will be asked to log in with the help of Google account. After logging in with your secondary account, your device will be ready to do live streaming as a security camera. After this you have to download the same app on another device. While setting up the device here, select ‘Viewer’ in ‘I Use This Device Age’ and log in with the same Google account. After this you will be able to see the live feed of the camera of the old device.
Will have to subscribe to the app
The good thing is that in the case of using the Alfred app, you will be able to see the live feed on the computer as well. For this, you will have to go to the site alfred .computer and sign in with your same Google account. It is important to note here that you can watch live feeds on one device at a time. Talking about image quality, the image quality is not very good in the free version of the app and only limited options are available.
